Zeteland, (Listenⁱ/zɛtəlænd/), officially known as the Kingdom of Zeteland, is a self-declared autonomous body that claims to be a sovereign state, commonly known as a micronation. Originally established as the former Thedonian Republic in 2017 by Fliud Garhart, the nation was contained within the bedroom of Fliud and kept a policy of isolation. After the collapse of the Thedonian Republic, the newly founded nation of Zeteland would be declared by Fliud on 29 November 2023. Two days later on 1 October 2023, Zeteland would officially declare independence from the United States and would claim the bedroom of Fliud once again. Currently, Zeteland lays official claims to 8,174.65m² (2.02 acres) of land equating to six properties surrounding the capital. The capital was officially named Reikbaurg as of March 2025 with the most populated city being Libhaim, founded on 28 March 2025, currently holding a population of four.

Zeteland is a unicameral constitutional monarchy. The legislation, formally known as the Reikerregyn, functions by representatives from each district in proportion to the district's population. The Reikerregyn currently has three sitting members, Dalas Carnell, who is the crown prince of Zeteland, leading the Reikerregyn, Emmy Rose, who represents the Uszetereik District, and Sierra Ausborn, who represents the Zetereik District.

Zeteland has made few moves within the micronational movement, but has helped to establish the Micronational Trade Agreement Alliance and the Micronations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Zeteland does hold a long-term alliance with the Grand Republic of Partiam in order to aid the other when needed.

Etymology

The etymology of the name, Zeteland, stems from Old Zetic "Settja-lands" which translated to, "Land of Settlement/Settlement Land". Throughout the creation of the w:Constructed Language, it was evolved into "Zete-land". The name was chosen primarily because it was where the founder, Fliud, lived at the time.

History

Prehistory

Starting in 2017, Fliud Garhart was inspired to found a micronation after learning that his friend, Austin Reid, had formed the Independent States of America. Without any prior knowledge of micronationalism or governance, he would establish the Thedonian Republic which was limited to just his bedroom. While being a republic, it only had one citizen, no constitution, and no clear goal. This nation would be forgotten about and eventually unestablished.

Founding of Zeteland

During the month of November 2023, Fliud was reintroduced to micronationalism and started to lay groundwork for a new nation. On 29 November 2023, he would officially establish the Democratic State of Zeteland, or more commonly known in English, Aliteria. By 1 October 2023, the constitution would be finished, and a declaration of independence would be made. The only land during this time was the bedroom of the founder with only himself as the sole citizen. In January 2024, plans would be announced for a relocation of Zeteland which officially took place on 22 February 2024. This relocation gained Zeteland two additional citizens, immediately the nation began to fail as the constitution that had been written was weak. The aforementioned constitution gave the president, Fliud, no power within the state, and all power to the legislation which hadn't been properly established, nor clear groundwork to elect individuals leading to no control of taxes from the citizens in which Zeteland needed to exist.

Zetic Economic Crisis

In July 2024, Zeteland would begin to face an economic crisis as the national spending reached a deficit and lead the nation into debt. With the constitution dictating that the president had no power and no council could be made due to the lack of proper defining within the constitution, Fliud would take full control of Zeteland, titling himself the king of Zeteland. This move caused immediate instability across the nation as he began to enact new laws regulating spending and increasing taxes. He was condemned leading to one of the citizens fleeing and taking refuge within the United States. By December, new plans were made to relocate the nation which took place in March 2025.

Modern Zeteland

Once Zeteland had relocated, the economy had stabilized economically. Following the stabilization, Fliud would begin the first reformation progress leading to the first draft of a constitution made to be stronger. This constitution would outline the basic rights for all citizens, instate the Reikerregyn and Reikerrohisen while outlining the limitations of the monarch. Immediately, new systems would be put into place such as the first population log, new IDs, and currency. The citizen count would immediately reach six with two counties being made from each, Reikgard County, and Libgard County. By July 2025, Zeteland would reach its current size with two new counties being added, Wylsgard County, Anitsgard County.

Politics and government

The Kingdom of Zeteland functions with a three-branch system, the Monarch functions as the executive branch with power limited by the Reikerregyn. The Reikerregyn functions as a unicameral legislature with representatives elected from each district proportionate to the population of said district. The Reikerregyn is then limited by the Reikerrohisen which functions as the supreme judicial branch to balance the powers of the Monarch and the Reikeregyn.

Early government

During the Democratic State of Zeteland, there was only an unnamed legislature and executive branch with all power held within the legislature. With the low population of Zeteland at the time and lack of power allocated within the president, this would lead to incoordination within the government and the populace. Taxes were enforced by the legislature but without any members, and no power held by the president, this would lead to the inevitable fall of the Democratic State of Zeteland.

Following the start of the Zetic Economic Crisis, an Absolute Monarchy would form placing all power within the king, Fliud Garhart. This government lead to the loss of a citizen and distrust within the leader, but after the relocation, the new constitution being ratified would begin the modern Constitutional Monarchy.

Monarch

The Monarch is the head of state in Zeteland in which holds full executive power over the nation. Some outlined abilities involve approving citizenship after approval from the Reikeregyn, pardons, approving or vetoing laws after passing through legislation, declaring royal orders in cases of emergencies that are limited by the legislature to ensure the monarch cannot take over the nation. Upholding and enforcing national law, and commanding the military.

The Monarch serves until death unless impeached by the Reikerregyn with succession working primarily hereditary. Though, there are outlined clauses for which the succession could be an elected monarch or through a hereditary will written by the monarch with approval from the Reikerregyn.

Reikerregyn

The Reikeregyn, Zetic for Royal Council, functions as the legislation across Zeteland. The goal of the Reikerregyn is to provide representation for the populace within the districts of the nation. The Reikerregyn possesses the ability to propose and pass laws, approve taxes, declare war, write treaties, and exchange in diplomacy. Other responsibilities is to manage the national budget and national treasury, mint currency, estabish courts, and serve as advisors to the Monarch with a term limit of two and are limited to four consecutive terms.

Reikerrohisen

The Reikerrohisen, Zetic for Royal Court, holds the absolute say regarding the constitution. The purpose is to ensure any laws passed are constitutional and to limit the power between the Executive and Legislative branch by placing checks in place to ensure no acts are unconstitutional.

Political parties

In Zeteland, there is currently only one political party, founded by Emmy Rose in which the grounds of the party is Anti-Artificial Intelligence and Pro-Artist. There are currently no limitations on political parties outlined but any party can be placed under investigation if there are concerns of unconstitutional acts within the party.

Military

The Military of Zeteland is divided into three branches. The branches include the Zetic Army, Zetic Navy, and Royal Guard. The purpose of the Army is to defend Zeteland from offensive attacks on land. The Navy defends the nation of Zeteland over bodies of water from offensive attacks, and the Royal Guard serves the monarch to protect the sitting monarch from any attack.

Zetikes Razid Wittenscaptig

The Zetikes Razid Wittenscaptig, Zetic Language Academy in English, is responsible for mandating the language of Zetic and spreading knowledge of the language in the Kingdom of Zeteland. It was established on 10 October 2025 under the M.E.S.C.O. Act to manage the preservation of the Zetic Language and to make teaching the language accessible to all people.

The Kingdom of Zeteland is in a direct alliance with the Grand Republic of Partiam and a member of the Manchuro Climate Accord, a founding member of the Micronational Trade Agreement Alliance and Micronations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Administrative regions

Zeteland operates under a county subdivision system with each county being lead by a Lord (Harra), or Lady (Dama). These counties then make up districts within Zeteland for the Reikerregyn but districts are purely for Legislative purposes. Any land that isn't a Zetic county is classified as a territory, territories do not belong to any district and if there are any inhabitants in the district, they do not get representation, but they are able to propose new counties from the territories in which a district will be assigned to it.

Economy

The economy of Zeteland is modest due to it's current limited trade and industrial activity.

Employment levels remain comparatively high, with approximately 70% of the able-bodied work force currently employed.

Natural resources form the economic base of Zeteland with the territory being particularly rich in wood and heavy imports of metal.
