Orfalia, officially the Kingdom of Orfalia (Spanish: Reino de Orfalia), is an cultural nation but the macronational entities say its a micronation. Founded on the city of Puerto de Mazarrón, declared independence from Spain in 19 August 2015.

Is the natural heir of Timeria, assuming as own the artistic and cultural creations and the traditions of Timeria.

Etymology

The name Orfalia is a composition between Orfeo and -alia (land) in ancient greek. Orpheus (Greek: Ὀρφεύς) was a legendary musician, poet, and prophet in ancient Greek religion and myth. The major stories about him are centered on his ability to charm all living things and even stones with his music, his attempt to retrieve his wife, Eurydice, from the underworld, and his death at the hands of those who could not hear his divine music. As an archetype of the inspired singer, Orpheus is one of the most significant figures in the reception of classical mythology in Western culture, portrayed or alluded to in countless forms of art and popular culture including poetry, film, opera, music, and painting. For the Greeks, Orpheus was a founder and prophet of the so-called "Orphic" mysteries. He was credited with the composition of the Orphic Hymns, a collection of which survives. Shrines containing purported relics of Orpheus were regarded as oracles. Some ancient Greek sources note 'Orpheus' Thracian origins.

History

The nation was proposed by Jose Antonio Silva to ancient citizens of Timeria on August, 2015, and it was created respecting the hellenistic traditions and the culture of Timeria.

New King

The first King of Orfalia, Angelos I, abdicated on 01 September 2015 in favor of Angelos II. On 02 September 2015, the Prince of Imvrassia Aggelos A' accepted with honor the offer of the Crown of Orfalia and enthroned King, with the constitutional name Angelos II King of Orfalia.

First political parties

The first political party was created on 20 September of 2015, and was the Democratic Party. Subsequently, the Pragmatic Party and Kostalira Bartresa -in Orphic language Patriotic Left- were created. The 18 September of 2015, the Pragmatic Party was refounded under the name Social Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party it was refounded under the name National Party.

Legislature of 2015-2016

The first elections was celebrated on 27 August 2015, Jose Antonio Silva was elected Gran Archon, because the Pragmatic Party obtained 5 of the 10 seats of the Senate.

With the constitutional reform of September 2015, the Senate became enlarged to 500 seats, the Pragmatic Party became in Social Democratic Party, and obtained 250 seats. The Democratic Party became in National Party, and obtained 200 seates, and Kostalira Bartresa obtained 50 seats.

Politics and government

Orfalia is a parliamentary monarchy, structured in a direct democracy. The Crown arbitrates the institutions and internal issues and can take initiatives in foreign policy. The Great Archon is elected by the Senate, every year. The public officials and positions of responsibility are elected and revocable in the Senate [1]. The Senate must appoint a Consul to assume the Presidency of the Senate, the regulation of the Senate and take the Great Archon at the time that the Great Archon dies, resigns, is dismissed or is unable to perform his duties.

The Senate shall be composed by all orphics over 21 years, with no cases pending with the Justice, nor are debtors with public or private orphic entities, members of any legal political party, elected by the People`s Assembly, assuming the position of magistrates for 1 year. They will regulate themselves. Its powers and duties are:

a) They can issue binding edicts.

b) They can exercise veto power against decisions of the Great Archon or magistrates of lower

authority.

c) They can name secretaries for help in administrative tasks.

d) They are required to attend the Senate in each session, except for reasons of force majeure.

Foreign relations

For the Foreign relations of Orfalia with other micronations, as determined by the laws of the Kingdom, responsibles are the Crown and the Government through the Prime Minister. The treaties signed with other nations must be approved by the Senate within a period not exceeding 48 hours, according to the Constitution. The Act 08/2015 sets the conditions for diplomacy with Orfalia:

1. Micronations who want to maintain diplomatic relations with Orfalia must have a demonstrable existence of at least three months.
2. Micronations who want to have diplomatic relations with Orfalia must have a website where information is offered on how to Government, Head of State, email, location and territorial claims.
3. Orfalia not have diplomatic relations with any micronation claiming territories in the Antarctic, in maritime artificial islands or outside of Planet Earth.
4. All diplomatic agreements will be negotiated by the Prime Ministry and approved or rejected by the Senate within a period not exceeding 48 hours.

Economy

The official currency is the "Dinar" Orfalia, plural "Dinars". It works in practice like a cryptocurrency in the nation.

The economy is for a domestic market consumption. Each company receives an amount of dinars for the creation of content relevant to the population, based on logos, research articles on health, philosophy, applications, and so on.

The most important industrial activity is the creation of logos, billboards and articles about computer applications.

At present some of the most important companies in Orfalia are Infinitvm General Research and Development, dedicated to the research of useful applications to the nation and writing articles on computing, and BG CHEPHAI dedicated to writing articles on health, chemical and pharmacology.

The Act 05/2015 prohibits the use of dinars to buy any product or service useful in macronations that not recognize Orfalia.

Culture

The most important institution for education and research is the Academy of Orfalia. The Academy does work in education, research and promotion of the orphic culture.

One of most important contributions in philosophy is the document "Why Orfalia is a country?" by Jorge Paredes, member of Academy of Orfalia.
